The World
This
is card number twenty one in the Rider Waite deck and it’s the last card in the
major arcana. The World is generally seen as a very happy card in readings. It
depicts a lady skipping through a central ellipse and carrying a wand in either
hand. At the four corners of the card there are illustrations of a bull, man, an
eagle and a lion. These are said to be representative of the four elements,
earth, air, water and fire.
In The World we get a sense of everything coming together. It is a card of
harmony and it gives a sense of bringing together all the elements that make up
your life’s ambitions and of achieving a goal that you have been working
towards. Thus, if The World comes up in a reading this could mean that
everything you have worked towards is now coming together. You are on course to
achieve what you have set out to do and there is, or soon will be a sense of
completion and of great satisfaction.
Sometimes we feel that we have reached the end of an era in our lifetime. Maybe
we’ve moved to a different house or we’ve taken a different job. Maybe we’ve
retired altogether. If this applies to you and The World comes up in a reading
then it may mean that there has never been a better time to extend your
horizons. Perhaps now you should seize the chance that has been given to you to
be like the figure depicted on the card. Step out from your world and reach out
for the new opportunities around you. See how these opportunities might come
together to help you achieve new goals. Use your talents to do what you know is
your heart’s desire and what you know will bring you happiness. The World is
wonderful card for new beginnings as well as for harmony and completion. The
World is telling you now that you are on course to achieve whatever you have set
out to do or are about to set out to do. Remember also that you need to have
given, or to give enough of yourself to balance what you are taking out. Good
luck. This is a very happy card.

There are times when all of us feel that we need some guidance in life, especially when we feel unsure about the path we're taking. A daily tarot card can often help you to see things a bit more clearly. There is no magic in this. What you are doing is drawing on your inner resources and strength. You are using your intuition and the illustration on the card to help you to see things in every possible light. I find that rather than relying on a computer to draw the daily card for me it's best to have an actual deck that I can draw a card from myself. The deck I'm using here is the Universal Rider Waite deck which is easily available online. Some of the auctions are shown below, or for more information visit our
