The Eight of Wands

The Eight of Wands doesn't have any human or animal figures in it at all.  The eight wands are shown one above the other but at an angle with their tips pointing towards the earth.  It is as if they have been launched on a flight and they are now coming down to earth. In the background there is a pleasant rural landscape with a river flowing by.

Sometimes when a card is drawn it's hard to see the significance of the illustration.  In the Eight of Wands the angle of the wands shows that whatever your situation you need to make sure that you're thoroughly grounded.  The wands are coming down to earth and so must you.  Your  daydreaming is coming to an end and now you have to put a plan into action.  It may be the famous "cunning plan" that you've been thinking about for ages or it may be something that you thought was just a daydream but has now become a real possibility.   There are people who say that we create our own reality with our daydreams and our wishes.  If this is what is happening to you then do it now!

The wands are at the end of their flight and just as their flight comes to an end so does something in your life.  You may be glad to see the back of something or something may come a natural end such as a project that you've been working on that is now complete.  As one thing finishes so another begins and it's possible that you may hear some important news that will spark you into action. Don't procrastinate.  Everything has turned in your favour so get on with it and do it now.

Your daily tarot card
There are times when all of us feel that we need some guidance in life, especially when we feel unsure about the path we're taking. A daily tarot card can often help you to see things a bit more clearly. There is no magic in this. What you are doing is drawing on your inner resources and strength. You are using your intuition and the illustration on the card to help you to see things in every possible light. I find that rather than relying on a computer to draw the daily card for me it's best to have an actual deck that I can draw a card from myself. The deck I'm using here is the Universal Rider Waite deck which is easily available online. Some of the auctions are shown below, or for more information visit our Rider Waite page.
