Ten of Wands
This card has a strong image. In the foreground there is a man carrying ten wands and he seems to be making very heavy weather of it. The wands are carried in front of him and they fan out awkwardly so the can‘t see where he‘s going. If the Queen of Wands saw him she’d say. “For goodness sake tie those wands into a proper bundle and let me help you carry them.” The man is making his way towards a comfortable looking homestead which is in a pleasant rural setting. He can’t see the homestead because the wands obscure his view, but he knows where he wants to go.
The description of the illustration on the Ten of Wands gives us a lot of clues as to what the card signifies in a reading. First of all the man is carrying a burden. He looks like a strong man and if this relates to you then ask yourself if the situation you have in mind has become a burden, and are you trying to do too much? You are strong enough to carry it but there could be easier ways of handling things. Don’t forget, the wands are the cards of energy and adventure but you need to expend that energy wisely otherwise it will all burn up before you’ve reached your goal.
The man in the illustration seems to know exactly where he’s heading so you need to take your cue from him. It may be that you’ve lost your way a bit and you feel as if you’re marching forward in the direction you want but you there are so many obstacles in the way that you can’t actually see where you’re going. Don’t worry too much, but carry on in the direction you’re going and if someone offers a helping hand then don’t turn them down. Everyone needs some help now and again and you should accept their offer gracefully. Don’t be too proud to say, “Yes please.”
If you are taking a big share of the responsibility for something then it may be that you will have to carry on for a while. Perhaps you’re helping someone out or everyone at work has gone down with a bug and you’re stepping into the breach. If this is the case then try to be as organised as possible so that the workload becomes less of a burden. Delegate where you can but don’t take on all the responsibility indefinitely. Work your way forward sensibly and share the work as much as possible. It won’t last forever.
